A tweet from Lawrence King which contains wisdom about sales and management.

Think about it.

Wherein lies the wisdom?

The unspoken keyword here is “time”.

A good salesman, a good manager, is someone who has the ability to forgo certain situations.
Who assesses a situation and decides to whether or not invest his time.

When you lead, when you manage, when you are opening up to prospects you are using TIME.

Time is your biggest asset. The most valuable asset you possess.

By saying “no” you refuse to invest unnecessary time on people and situations which will keep on demanding YOUR TIME without having a decent return.

It is simple economics.

Which sounds better?
– Being paid 50 dollars for 5 minutes of work
– Being paid 50 dollars for 2 hours of work

This is simple maths when assessing clients.
This is the simple math on which success relies.

Difficult and problematic clients will make sure you get the 50 dollars while putting in hours of work.
Easy-going and good clients will make you 50 dollars for 5 minutes of work.

Do the math.
The 2 hours of work could have made you 1200 dollars if you forwent the difficult customer.

This is basic (time)management.
When starting business, focus on those people who actually BUY your services and stuff.
Do not focus on those who ask, promise and keep on asking and vying for your attention.
These are the problem customers.

To differentiate between good customers and non-customers I wrote my courses about sales and leadership.
