It tries to confuse and obfuscate you through semantics and wordplay’s.
They are now trying to undermine the idea of DeFi in this article.
Just know one thing.
There is no such thing as “Institutional #DeFi”.
The article gives it away with the banger (put in capital letters):
“Institutional DeFi does not refer to growing institutional investments in DeFi protocols and decentralized applications (DApps) but rather to large institutions using DeFi protocols TO TOKENIZE REAL-WORLD ASSETS WITH REGULATORY COMPLIANCE AND INSTITUTIONAL-LEVEL CONTROLS FOR CONSUMER PROTECTION. A common question that comes up is: What benefits does DeFi offer on top of digital banking?”
The highlighted part is squarely opposite to what DeFi is.
DeFi still stands for Decentralized Finance.
It stands for Decentralization on ALL levels.
It means “NO CENTRAL CONTROL“.
Understand that “regulatory compliance and institutional-level controls for consumer protection” means one thing: CENTRALIZED CONTROL.
Don’t fall for the semantics and wordplays.
Be on your guard.
Know your fundamentals.
Learn them here.
I see you on the inside.
Take care,
Your friend Dimitri.
