Halongmining DragonMint T1

The DragonMint T1 is a new and powerful miner who is to be considered as the direct
competitor of the Antminer S9. The Antminer S9 being the current most popular choice by
both plebs and professional Bitcoin miners.

What sets the DragonMint T1 apart from the Antminer S9?

A few key features which are best summed-up comparing both with each other
DragonMint T1         Antminer S9
Hashrate: 16TH/s (+/- 5%)     Hashrate: 14TH/s (+/- 5%)
Size: 125x155x340        Size: 135x158x350
Noise level: 75db         Noise level: 85db
Power: 1480W          Power: 1372W
Weight: 6000g          Weight: 4200g

In general we can conclude that the DragonMint T1 is:

  • higher in hash output than the Antminer S9
  • Smaller in size (compact) but more heavy
  • Uses a bit more power than the Antminer S9 but boasts more TH/s per W
    (Antminer S9 has a rate of 1TH/s per 98W)
    (DragonMint T1 has a rate of 1TH/s per 92,5W)
  • more silent than the Antminer S9

Power to the plebminers!!

What makes the DragonMint T1 stand out from its competitor is its history.
This miner was created as a reaction to Bitmain’s inability to deal with long waiting times for
their miners as well as poor after-sales services. As a reaction to the community-voiced
problems a few core developers stuck their heads together which resulted in the creation of
the Halong Mining project.
Currently is Halong Mining not really active anymore on social media, nor is its
pseudonymous creator BTCdrak. The miners themselves are still being distributed through
resellers (like D-Central) and still perform well and in competition with the Antminer S9.

The focus on this miner has to do with it being, like the Bitaxe and Bitaxe Ultra, a
community-based project in reaction to the monopoly of Bitmain and the need for
diversification and decentralization of mining hardware. A credit to the relentlessness of the
Bitcoin OpenSource community to drive innovation and taking matters into their own hands
to support Bitcoin.
